At some recent point along the course of American history, a majority of the American public unconsciously decided to relinquish control of their government.

So why would the majority of the people do this? Well, they stopped paying attention and decided to become followers instead of leaders. After all, it's much easier to follow and implement the ideas of others than to come up with your own.

What happened next should be a lesson to us all. The power-hungry among us took the lead and ran for public office.

Once in office, these "leaders", that campaigned on platforms that contained empty promises of listening to their constituents, turned and represented their own self-interests.

We have allowed professional politicians, NOT Statesmen, to make our decisions for us.

Originally, Representatives were elected to REPRESENT the majority of those that voted for them. Elections were never designed to be a mandate for elected officials to do what they believed to be the best thing for their constituents. Just the opposite, they were designed for the elected official to do what the MAJORITY of their constituents wanted, weather the official agreed with it or not.

What is the point of electing a Representative if they do not represent you?

We have lost our way.

The culprit of the fastest spreading epidemic in America has been identified!

It is called the Stupid virus and was so named for its vast potential to cause UTTER STUPIDITY in those that become infected.

Medical experts do not know where this virus originated, but what they do know is cause for great concern. If not eradicated, this virus will have a devastating and long-lasting negative impact on the health of the American people. 

So far, the Stupid virus has only infected the elected officials of the United States.

Doctors warn that most frustrating trait in this virus is that the Representatives and Senators in Congress that have been infected do not know it.

Even though these officials know their jobs are to REPRESENT the American constituents that elected them, the virus blocks their natural cognitive capacity to recognize common-sense solutions to common-sense problems.

Medical experts say that even though the Stupid virus does not infect non-elected Americans, it could have a devastating effect on the health of Americans in general if Congress passes their Health care legislation. They say that it will, "Most likely allow for the passage of laws that will shorten the life-span of the average American by way of a bloated government bureaucracy that rations life saving care."

So, how do we eradicate this virus?

Experts say that education is the only possible treatment.

However, we cannot trust the news media with the task of education, since the latest reports hint that journalists are now getting infected.

Better make some phone calls and nip this virus in the bud folks!
